Skin Care Routine which is easy to stick to?!

Hello!!

So I have finally found a night time skin care routine that is easy to stick to and still makes my skin feel all fresh. When it gets to the night the last thing I want to be doing is faffing around with all these different products when all I want to do in get into bed and watch a TV series (Currently obsessing over Desperate Housewives).

I find doing a cleanser or washing your face in the shower is less effort, as it literally takes two seconds and half your makeup has been removed. Then ill remove the rest of my makeup using a cleansing wipe or micellar water (whichever is on offer at the time). Then not every night but every few nights Ill exfoliate my skin just to get rid of the dirty dry skin, making my skin feel like a baby bottom.

Then I will use my holy grail moisturizer, my Liz Earle which is good for dry skin and makes my skin feeling so hydrated.

I never use to use eye cream but I remember watching YouTube videos and saying how it is good to prevent wrinkles around your eyes. SO this one is really intense and makes my eye area all nourish.

Then lip balm, who can really sleep without moisturized lips. This is fab.

So yeah you can see how I have made my skin care routine so easy and simple that I don’t mind doing it every night without it feeling like it a chore.

Lots of love,
Nicole xx

My Experience with Roaccutane

Hello!!

So this afternoon I have just spent looking at old pictures of me thinking wow, my skin was shocking then. Which gave me inspiration to write this post about my experience with Roccacutane. There is very few pictures of myself when my skin was bad as I had no confidence to take any pictures.

I have started taking a lot more care into my skin care now- which I am going to do a post on in the near future.

Back when I was in my mid teens, my skin wasn't terrible however I had the worst break outs and it really got my confidence down. I had the oiliest skin which didn't help with trying to wear foundation as I would layer it on, praying that it would last the full school day. I was eating well and exercising frequently so I had no idea why my skin was so bad. I had tried everything, antibiotics, going on the pill just to try balance my hormones. Last resort was to refer me to the dermatologist.

After we talked through everything, side effects, things to be cautious of, then I was given my first lot of medication.

Skin Effects
I was constantly tired, I would go to bed at 9pm and wake up at 7am. After school I would have a two hour nap and still be shattered. I was too tired to do anything on a night, not fun what so ever specially when the age I was at, everyone was going out.
I had the driest skin, lathered on moisturiser but nothing seem to work.
Vaseline was my best friend, I went through pots of it.
Whatever you do- do not get anything waxed when you are on the medication, I found out the hard way when I got my eyebrows waxed. I was in agony- as my skin was so so sensitive, it just took a layer of skin off.

Does it work?

Yeah it does, but it comes with awful side effects. I still now have such dry skin not nearly as bad when I was on the medication but still bad now. Also I have incredibly sensitive skin, for example I can't spray perfume on my chest area as I come out in a rash.

I must say I am incredibly pleased with the results, however three years on I am still have bad breakouts which is no fun as I went on a medication  to prevent any breakouts in future life.

I would definitely do your research before going onto the medication as some side effects are severe i.e. low moods. Every time I went back to the dermatologist, I had to fill out a questionnaire about how happy I am feeling- if you ever experience any low moods speak to your doctor as soon as possible!!

So thats my experience with Roaccutane, it definitely isn't for everyone, I hope its helped with telling you about it all.

Lots of love,
Nicole

July Favourites

Hello!!

So today I thought I would put together everything I’ve tried and loving from July!! As I haven’t written one of these post before, I just have so many favourite however Ill keep it short and sweet.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray- I think this is going to be in my favourites every month. It literally is the business, it does extactly what is says and does keep your makeup on which is fab when you wanna danceeeee all night.

Skin Defence SPF 50- I mentioned about this product in my Body Shop haul which you can read here. I have been wearing it under my makeup and doesn't feel sticky like sun cream which is perfect if you are wearing it everyday and knowing you are still being protected from the sun.

Estee Double Wear- I have FINALLLLLY jumped on the band waggon for this product. I can now see what the hype was all about. It feels so lovely on the skin and with the medium coverage that you can bulid up, it is a perfect go to foundation.

Aspinal Travel purse-  If you read about my What to take when you have hand luggage which you can read here, you will know that I love this purse. With it being holiday season and going away this has come in so handy and helps so much to stay organised with everything you need for travelling in one place.

What have been your favourites this month? Do you like my favourites?

Lots of love,
Nicole xx
