City Break- Madrid

So the holiday blues have kicked in big time now. I need a holiday to get over this holiday. I just love a good city break, however they can be quite tiring, so excuse any grammar or spelling mistakes as I am pretty pooped while writing this. So here is my guide to Madrid. Below is what I got up to in 3 days that I was there. We also only took hand luggage, however for 3 nights that is more than enough.
Accommodation
We stayed at New Point Apartments, they were very basic.. However for the time we were in the room it was ideal. The location of it was fab, walk out your room and straight in the centre. One bad thing is, the street our accommodation was down was full of Prostitutes which made me a little uneasy.

Park Retiro
This park is so so beautiful, it probably also helped that it was a gorgeous day. A very nice walk if that’s what you were fancying; however there is a couple of small cafes. We stopped for lunch and Sangria one day and the other day at a different cafe for milkshakes and churros, which I was so disappointed with, the only churros I had all holiday and they weren’t even nice! But they have little rowing boats on the lake which you can hire and use which is lovely. It was very reasonably priced at 6 euros for 45 minutes per boat, which you can have up to 4 people.

Park Retiro
Palace
So when we first arrived, the queue was pretty large so we went to the Cathedral first which ill get onto next. Once we got in, full price tickets at 11 euros, however if you have a student card you can get in 6 euros. I would so say this is worth a visit, it’s just amazing some of the rooms which you can see from the pictures below. There is quite a few rooms where you aren’t allowed to take pictures and they get pretty arsey if they catch you taking any. However we could not take a picture of the dining table, it’s beautiful.

Madrid Royal Palace
Cathedral
So we weren’t that fussed to go here, however when we saw the queue for the palace we thought might as well. Its 6 euros entry and you can only take pictures outside.  The view of the palace when your upstairs outside of the palace is beautiful.

Madrid Royal palace
Segway
I would recommend this to anyone in a heartbeat. I have been on Segway around 6 times and still love it. I did it in Perth which you can read the post here.  It is a great way to see lots of different areas. Like the we got taken to this big foodie place, reminded me a lot of Barcelona in this area.. you can read my post on Barcelona here.  Its just ideal if you don’t want to walk anymore and have some fun, I definitely found it a right laugh. There is plenty of people near the palace selling tours so I am sure you will find a Segway tour. We paid 20 euros for 1 hour 20.

Football stadium
Now I personally wouldn’t recommend this, first of all we queue 1 hour and 30 minutes to buy tickets which cost 25 euros. However I have to say the stadium is pretty spectacular.

Circulo De Bella- Rooftop bar

Right so to get to the rooftop bar you do have to pay 4 euros, which I guess is a little steep if you are going up there to spend money anyway. However it is lovely up there with a drink and enjoy the view. It was such a beautiful night when we went, although it did get very chilly. We didn't end up eating there as there was no where inside.. however I really wish we did.

Tinto with a view
So we went to Madrid last week so end of April, and the temperatures were around 20's - 25's which was nice, and a good temperature for walking around seeing sights. Also I went for 3 nights and took 315 euros, which was the perfect amount. I always base it on 100 euros a day, as we were having cocktails that were 10 euros each.

So yeah that's my time in Madrid, I hope you have enjoyed the post as much as I did writing it!! I have also filmed our time in a little vlog which I will put live soon.

Have you been to Madrid? Where would you recommend visiting?

Lots of love,
Nicole

My Top Ten Products under Ten Pounds

My top ten products under ten pounds

I always thought I would find it hard to find ten products that I love that are under ten pounds but no I was wrong. I love so many I found this so hard to write. I am a sucker for a good drug store buy, like you can get so much more for your money than high end.  Sleek Brow Kit, So this is my all time favourite brow product, If I could only ever have one makeup product it would be this, its a wax on the left which sets your brows then the powder which I use for areas on my brows that i don't want as dark. Maybelline gel , now this brow gel compliments the Sleek brow kit perfectly. Them brows ain't budging.

Maybelline mascara, This Maybelline mascara is a techinally 'Bloggers/youtubers made me buy it' and now I can see why they love it so much, it literally lasts forever and doesn't clump. Eylure 101 lashes, I am obsessed with wearing lashes at the moment, I tried out the Threads eyelashes which you can read here. These Eylure are definately my favourite at the moment, as they are so damn easy to put on and completely change your look altogether.

I am a sucker for Nude lipsticks, which is why these two shades are my favourite ones under ten pounds at the moment.  L’Oréal lipstick I mentioned this nude in my favourite nudes which you can read here. It has a pinkey shade through it which makes it very natural and a lovely everyday shade. Gosh lipstick I also mentioned this product in my favourite nude lipsticks. This shade is more of a browny nude which I personally love.

L’Oréal true match I mentioned this product in my L'Oreal favourites which you can read here.  I absolutely adore my Estee Lauder double wear but its pricey to replace so i always switch it up with that or my true match. Its got a very build able coverage which is ideal depending on you personally. Maybelline Baby skin, I really feel like my foundation sits so much nicer when I wear this primer. Well duh it gives me baby skin of course.

Nyx Blush I can't say Blush is a big part of my makeup routine however, this shade is lovely and perfect if you want a little bit of colour on your skin. Its like a coral shade which is nice for a sutle tint of colour.
Bourjois 1 seconde Nail Polish , so I wrote a post a year ago about my favourite spring nail polishes which you can read here. I just love the application of this brush, it literally makes doing my nails not a chore! And the colour is just perfect for spring!

Do you like the products mentioned? What is your favourite product at the moment?

Threads Lashes

I love a good pair of eyelashes, like they transform your look. I personally love a minimal eye and bright lip with some big lashes on.  My favourite look at the moment.  So I was fortunate enough to be sent a couple of pairs of Threads Eye lashes, in Emiloo and Charleston. As you can see from the image above, one is more of a natural lash, and the other one is full volume lashes. What I love wearing on a night out. So here are my thought on these lashes.
I always like to be honest, I love the red packaging I thought it was really sleek, but the actual packaging felt like it was on the cheap side. The box kinda fell apart when I was trying to photograph them, however that is a minor detail. However that is the only fault I can find with these lashes! They have converted me, I love them! I wore them for a nightout last night so here is what I thought of them.

I wore the Emiloo lashes, which I did need to trim down a little bit, but they were very easy to apply and the glue kept them stuck all night. Always a winner when you just want to dance all night and not worry about trying to stick your lashes back on when you have had a few too many wines (oops).

So here is some posey pictures above of me (crinnnge) wearing the Emiloo lashes. These lashes retail for £9 which is middle priced for lashes however I think they are very good value for money as I found you could definately get another two wears out of them at least!

So you can check their website out here.

Have you tried these lashes out before? What lashes would you recommend?

Lots of love,
Nicole xxx

theBalm Mary Lou Manizer highlighter review

The Balm Highlighter
Man oh man, I didn't purchase my first highlighter until last year.... like what did I do without it. Its become a daily staple for me now, and is one of my favourite things to buy as they are always so pretty. I tried the NYX contour palette which had a lovely highlighter in there, however now using it, it looks really white on the face and doesn't give you the natural highlight you might be after.

I would technically say, bloggers and Youtubers made me buy this. I heard everyone talking about this for ages and so they had it on Feel Unique one day, and it was the best purchase I have ever bought. Oh yeah I haven't even told you what highlighter I am talking about... theBalm Mary Lou Manizer. You have probably heard people talk about this for ages, and I am probably pretty late on the band wagon.. better late then never hey.

The Balm highlighter

First of all, the packaging is so cute, with this blonde woman on the front. As much as I love the classic rose gold packaging, I do love this just because its different and definately stands out from the rest of your makeup in your draw!

The colour on your cheeks just gives you that pop of highlight that you want, there is picture below of what the highlighter looks on me. But I would recommend this highlighter in a heart beat! I can't seem to find anything that would beat this at the moment.

Do you like this highlighter? Have you tried any other products from the Balm? Which highlighters do you recommend?

Lots of love,
Nicole

What I bought on my recent Primark Trip

Does anyone ever gets them days where you feel like ‘I need a good shopping day’ . So last month I finally I had my well overdue Primark shopping trip. So I thought I would put together the bits that I had bought.

I finally had my trip to Primark, if you follow me on twitter, you can follow me here you’ll know I have been going on about being desperate to go to Primark and I finally went. I was very good in Primark and didn't go overboard. I was going to do an overall What I bought last month post, however everything that I would want to include, I have already used.

Primark haul
So it’s so hard to go to Primark and not pick up a least one candle. This smells beautiful and I believe it was only 80p! Bargain.  I was really trying to find some nice blog prop bits, however I wasn’t that successful. However I found this nice quote 'Your Vibe attracts the Tribe' which I thought was quite quirky.
I have heard Primark Eyelashes are good, I have only used them once, and I found the glue was rubbish. However I thought lets give it another go but use a different glue.. Ill more than likely do a full review on them in the upcoming future.
I love having diffusers in my house, if you read my Mothers Day gift guide, that was one of the gifts I was giving my Mum as she loves them too. This smell beautiful and I find the packaging is expensive looking, even though it only cost £1!
Second to last thing I bought were these hair bobbles, I have seen a lot of bloggers and youtubers wearing them so i thought yeah lets give it a go. Also when wearing these bobbles, they look okay on your wrist, a bit like a bracelet look I guess.

Lastly, I love Primark gym wear, I have had some fab gym wear from there in the past and some not so much (see through gym leggings). These leggings were only £5 so I had to purchase them, even if I only wear them for a lazy Sunday.

Have you been to Primark recently? Do you like what i have bought?

Lots of love,
Nicole
