A Week In Lipsticks

A week In lipsticks

So I was inspired to do this post when I read Jasmin Talks Beauty do it, you can read her post here. So as far work goes, I never make that much of a effort with my makeup, I always keep it very quick and minimal so normally a nude lip will enough for me. But there is so many different kinds of Nudes. So here goes with my Week in Lipsticks. Also I say a week, however I had a very lazy weekend and didn't wear any makeup.

Lauren Mercier in Spiced Rose
So Mondays are never fun, so this is my all time favourite lipstick so I thought I would start my Monday right with a very moisturising and easy wearing lipstick.

Maybelline Super Stay24 in 515
Yes this is red. Not a very low key makeup to wear. But I was feeling down that day, so whats better than cheering up your mood with a bright lipstick! And bonus, this lipstick actually doesn't move all day. Win Win.

Loreal Colour Riche, Julianne Nude
So I don't think they make this lipstick anymore which is very upsetting. As it is the most beautiful pinkey shade. A little pop of colour but also very natural at the same time!

Nivea Pearly Shine
So on Thursday I slept in... which seems to be a common thing at the moment (must go to bed earlier). I don't really know if you can count this as a lipstick? more of a lip balm, however it has a little bit of colour which was ideal for a not much makeup day.

Maybelline Colour Show- 157 More to Adore
Friday, the best day of the week!! So why not finish it with a nudey pink.. all the lipsticks mentioned are all very moisturising, and not drying on the lips. This lipstick doesn't feel like your wearing anything on your lips which is always a good thing!

Obsess Eyeshadows

I always buy eye shadows, even though I don’t wear it every day.. Strange. However eye shadows or highlighters are the prettiest thing to buy. You can read about my favourite highlighters here. So a beauty related post today, I try and mix it so it isn’t all beauty. But I was recently in boots and saw these eye shadows all individually potted (usually I just like palettes). However these are ones you can push out the casing to add to your own palettes. I like using my Z palette, which when I ordered it, it came with magnets that you just stick on the back of the eye shadow.

Obsess Eyeshadows

So I only picked out two colours, as I was wary in case I didn’t like them. However these are amazing, they remind of makeup geek eye shadows, which you can read my post  here. I just love these coppery shades, just makes a change to my usual brown smokey eye. These shades surprised me, they were so pigmented!! I think though for £2 pounds each, you would expect a product that would lack in something. However this product doesn't have any fall out either which is perfect! They have a big variety of shades and some highlights so i cant wait to go out and buy some more!

Do you like the sound of these eyeshadows?
Have you ever tried this brand before?

Lots of love,
Nicole xx

Summer Saviours

So with summer coming up soon, even though the weather when I am writing this is awful. We always have to be hopeful for a warm summer in England.  So I thought I would put together my summer Saviours, which really help me during summer.

So say you don’t catch the sun well, or you just want a little extra colour in your skin. Then this bronzer is perfect for faking 'the glowing skin look' which we all want from Summer. (Well I do anyway) .
Lip Balm
It doesn't take much for any of my skin to dry out, but in the warm weather, my lips get so dry! So I always make sure I take a moisturising lip balm to help prevent that. Also its good having a lip balm with a SPF in it, as lips also burn in the sun!

After going on Holiday to Bali last year, you can read that post here. That with the humidity, trying to keep any makeup on is a challenge; however this setting spray does help to stick it in place a little longer.

The one thing I love about Holidays is not have to wear foundation. As the sun instantly makes my skin so much clearer and spot free, when I get back from holidays I wear very minimal makeup. So say your tan is coming to an end, this oil gives a little bit more colour into your skin. Just looking very natural!

I don’t know whether it because I lived in Australia half my life, or the constant nagging from my mum (which I am so glad about) about wearing sun cream. So come into Spring/Summer I always wear this under my makeup, as it has a SPF 50 I know that my face is covered.

Do you like any of the products I have mentioned?  Are you going away anywhere this year? What products do you recommend?

Lots of love,

Nicole

Pure Clay Detox Mask

So we all get them days were our skin is just feeling really dull, from a heavy night the night before, or not taking your makeup off. Or just a random day. I feel like my skin is dull permanently at the moment!! I feel like I have tried and tried lots of other products, and non of them ever seem to make a difference in my skin. So when I saw that this Pure Clay mask was on offer in Superdrug, I thought what the heck, might as well give it a go. So here's what I thought.

Pure Clay detox mask

I find a little goes a long way with this product, I apply a little more in more problem areas. I use to find with other face masks in the past that I would feel like I am waiting hours for them to dry ( a little exaggeration never hurts anyone) okay it felt like a hour. However this face mask dry within 10 minutes which is so good!! You can definitely tell when its set, I suddenly feel like I have had Botox, not been able to move my forehead!

So washing off the mask is pretty easy, with a little bit of water and a flannal does the trick! But wow my skin once I have taken the mask off, it feels like a baby bottom. Its so soft!!!! Like for the first time in a while my skin actually feels clean ( is that a weird comment?) With using it over 10 times now, I must say I would like to try more of the collection of masks and see what they are like. Judging by this one, I like I will like them!!

Have you try this mask before? Have you tried any others in the range? What face masks do you recommend?

Lots of love,
Nicole

The Best Brownies ever

·  So I could not share this with you!!! I have been trying so many Brownie recipes to find my go to recipe that I know would be so tasty. Like recently I have been so bad at making brownies but I feel like I have finally conquered that curse haha! If you read about my girls’ night which you can read here, you will have known about my go to cookie recipe. So before I ramble anymore and make your mouth water anymore, I’ll talk you through my go to brownie recipe.
So ingredients you need are as follows
·         185g unsalted butter
·         185 g dark chocolate
·         85g plain flour
·         40g cocoa powder
·         50g white chocolate
·         50g milk chocolate
·         3 large eggs
·         275g caster sugar.

So I find the recipe from the website quite long winded so I thought id shortened it down a little bit. So firstly melt the butter and the dark chocolate however you want to melt it, I personally use a glass bowl and a pan of hot water. Then leave to cool.

The best brownies ever

Turn your oven on at 160C for fan and 180C for gas. Then obviously line a baking tin, square kind of style tin. Then tip the plain flour and cocoa powder into a bowl, removing any lumps.

Now roughly chop the white and milk chocolate. You want both small and little bits for your brownies.

In a different bowl to the chocolate and butter mixture and the flour and cocoa powder mixture, break 3 large eggs and tip in the caster sugar. Mix with electric whisk on maximum speed, until the eggs and sugar are thick and creamy. Around 3 – 8 minutes.
Then nearly at the end, pour the cooled chocolate mix over the egg and sugar mix and mix gently in a figure of 8. You don’t want to take all the air out the mixture. Then it says hold the sieve (but I didn’t) and mix in the flour and cocoa powder. Then finally add in the white and milk chocolate.

So put in the oven for 25 minutes, once the timer goes off give them a wiggle as they might need 5 minutes more. Then try to resist them while they cool.

The Best Brownies ever

Then its brownie time!! You can read the actual recipe here. But I am not joking, these are the best brownies ever.

Do you like baking? Do you like brownies? Have you tried this recipe before?

Lots of love,

ASOS Wishlist

Hello!!! So I feel like this wishlist is well overdue, as I am always on ASOS just planning what to spend on my next payday! Sadly most these items will have to stay on my wishlist as my bank balance won't allow me to buy them all.

So starting Top left to right...
This blue dress just looks like the perfect summer races dress, off the shoulders which I am absolutely loving at the moment!! The black cami style top, is just a wardrobe must have, looks nice with jeans or even to dress it up for a nice evening meal. Now this play-suit is the cutest thing ever!!! How lovely would it look with sandals on a warm summers evening (in England no chance) so perfect for a holiday.

Now Jumpsuits aren't normally my thing... as I always think of problem of trying to go to the toilet, like what if there is no nice girls in the toilet to help unzip you?! However this jumpsuit I found very classy looking so I had to include it! A classic white shirt, I am still yet to buy one, but I feel like this is a wardrobe essential! Now I know this play suit isn't ASOS branded, however its off the ASOS website. I just love the colour of it, perfect for spring/summer!

Black heel shoes, everyone need them as they go with everything!! Looking at the pictures of these, they do look like they would be walk-able (I really struggling wearing heels)!! A nice slouchy top, as who doesn't love to just chuck them on, on days you really can't be bothered to wear something nice! Lastly but not least, this Boohoo white off the shoulder top. Its just so pretty looking, that I am actually adding this top into my basket as we speak!
